# Transactional SMS

> Receipts, alerts, and order updates on POST /v1/sms/send.

Use this endpoint for messages the user expects because of an action they took — not for bulk promo.

Or subscribe to `sms.sent`, `sms.delivered`, `sms.failed`. Status: `pending` → `sent` → `delivered` (or `failed`).

## Anti-spam

Workspaces with anti-spam enabled classify the body in the worker **after** the HTTP response. A flagged message is either tagged in `metadata.antispam` and still sent, or stopped: status `blocked`, credit refunded, `sms.blocked` webhook.

## Billing

`credit_cost` is country rate × [segments](/sms/segments-encoding). Same prepaid balance as OTP. Nigeria 1 credit → ₦6 per segment.
