Robase is an SMS API for sending one-time passcodes and transactional messages across Africa — the same routing, automatic provider failover, and prepaid credits for both. This is not a programmable-email platform. There is no public email HTTP API. Account mail (signup verification, receipts, invites) stays internal.

What you can build

OTP verification

Send a code with POST /v1/otp/send and check it with POST /v1/otp/verify.

Transactional SMS

Receipts, alerts, and order updates on POST /v1/sms/send.

AI agents

Hosted MCP at https://api.robase.dev/mcp with an Agent API key.

Coverage we can defend

Prepaid routes (source: country_routes seed and the pricing table): Eight priced markets from the live rate table (GET /v1/pricing) and robase.dev/pricing. Canada and other +1 numbers use the US route operationally and are not listed as priced markets (Canada is on the rate table at 10 credits). Additional destinations are added as priced routes — ask if you need a country that is not on the table. We do not publish a delivery-rate percentage. Credits are refunded when every upstream provider fails, or when anti-spam blocks a send before it reaches a carrier.

Why Robase

POST /v1/otp/send for one-time passcodes and POST /v1/sms/send for transactional messages. Same keys (robe_ + 64 hex), same credits, same failover.
Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Benin, and Ivory Coast retry a fallback upstream if the primary rejects or times out. The United Kingdom and United States routes are currently single-provider.
Failures return { "error": { "type": "...", "message": "..." } }. Match on error.type — it is stable. error.message is prose and may be translated.
Naira-first credits with Paystack and Flutterwave top-ups. Nigeria is 1 credit → ₦6/message. No monthly fee.

Official SDKs

There is no Python client. Any other language can call https://api.robase.dev directly.
